About this event

Come on down on a relaxed Sunday afternoon for some queer chitchat and video game questing whilst quenching your thirst with a cheerful beverage. We will be at Clapham’s newest queer and black-owned venue, Neptune Bar.

We’ll have classics such as Mario Kart, Towerfall and Super Smash Bros and some other favourites. Cocktails are £7 and the bar has a speciality range of mocktails and 0% drinks!

It’s the perfect place to meet both new and familiar Gaymer friends in a relaxed setting.

Monthly Meet-Up FAQ

It’s my first time and I’m nervous!

There’s no need to worry about coming alone, people are very friendly at our events. A lot of our regulars come in groups with their friends, so make sure to say hello to people!

As you might expect, a bar full of consoles and gamers can get crowded and noisy! We recommend checking out the basement where it’s more chilled.

Our admin team and hosts are always on hand to help you meet new gamers – so if you’re shy, nervous or feel overwhelmed please, please, please tell the team so we can help

What happens on the night?

When you arrive we’ll scan your ticket and give you a name sticker. Then you’re free to explore! There are lots of consoles set up throughout the venue, there’s a bar if you want to get a drink, and the admins are always on hand to introduce you to new people if you’re shy.

Is there food at the venue?

There are bar snacks at The Old School Yard. For something more substantial there is a Sainsbury, Tesco Express and chip shop on the same street.

Is there a cloakroom?

Yes, you can store cloaks, coats and capes in the cloakroom for £1 per item. Please do not store valuables in the cloakroom. Items are left at your own risk.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

The main level of The Old School Yard is wheelchair accessible. We also have some games in the basement, which has no step-free access. However, we can move the consoles around to make sure everybody can play the games they want. There is no wheelchair accessible bathroom. If you have any questions or requirements please contact us so we can help.

Why do I need a ticket for this event?

To meet the occupancy limit of the venue we issue tickets for this event. Gaymers iNC. is a non-profit group and we reinvest everything in new games, consoles and throwing great events.
